Eigentlich sollte der Flug der AirNT 0815 von Frankfurt nach Bogotá völlig ereignislos verlaufen und die Passagiere der Ersten Klasse sollten in purem Luxus schwelgen. Dass ausgerechnet der frisch abservierte Exverlobte der kolumbianischen Stewardess mit an Bord ist und auf dem Nachbarsitz eine Mormonin Platz nimmt, die eine Urne mit der Asche ihrer verstorbenen Mutter schmuggelt, ist unangenehm. Immerhin kann man sich auf einem 12- Stunden-Flug, in einer engen Stahlröhre, 10.000 Fuß über dem Boden, nicht aus dem Wege gehen. Doch dann passiert genau das, woraus alptraumhafte Flugängste gemacht sind: Sämtliche Triebwerke fallen aus - mitten über dem Atlantik. Das Flugzeug befindet sich im Gleitflug. Doch sowohl Crew als auch Passagiere wollen aus den letzten verbleibenden Momenten das Beste rausholen und packen musikalisch und komödiantisch ihr Seelenleben aus.
